my country and your country

I heard that the United States will suspend the gasoline excise tax during the summer.
My country raised taxes.
Actually they abolished some of the taxes a month ago but reestablished it.

Why?
I guess they needed more money to finish making highways or other roads.

It is interesting how both of the parties—in the United States and Japan— that has power are rather conservative.
Two countries, having the Government party with a similar political view chose different policies.

My conclusion is, in the United States, petroleum companies have power and in Japan, construction companies have power.

yes.

I think that countries need strong corporations to back their government.

But it's ironical that EU, which has regulations for companies to dominate in their industries, are having a better economic situation then the US and Japan.

I think the Euro is artificially inflated- So i question how much better europe actually does as a market.

the gas tax break is a ruse- it won't save anyone money and it is geared towards uneducated voters. Kinda pisses me off actually.

mondo I heart you

thanks mike,
now that you've read most of my blogs, you learned how to say "thank you" in 7 languages.

I agree with Mike's spot on this one - this gas tax issue is being unfairly used in this primary, and it's avoiding the real issue of the economic problem.

You're right - the oil companies have way too much power in this country, and I have no idea when that could start to change.

yeah probably mike's spot would say the oil companies would continue being the leader after the alternative but I think it is time for them to step back.

Well I think we all agree they should step back mondo- but they aren't even the 800 lb gorilla in the room, they are more like the 10 ton rhino.

Telling them to step back implies we have a recourse to make them do so. what are we gonna do? tell them to step back again?

we pose no threat to big oil. NONE. nor to any corporation. It'll be interesting to see what happens now that middle America is struggling to afford food and fuel.

I predict a riot before the close of August.
